Injury Round-Up

Oxford United v Crewe Alexandra has been postponed after a positive corona test for Crewe player Omar Beckles on Saturday morning, the club's second positive test this week. It was called off just 35 minutes before kick off due to the requirement for Crewe's players and staff to go into self-isolation.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is in self-isolation after a positive virus test, the second Liverpool player to require isolation this season following Thiago Alcantara's positive test less than a week before.

Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Kilmarnock are being investigated over a possible breach of corona protocol. The entire squad is currently self-isolating after 6 positive tests in the last week. SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster told the BBC: "Clearly, it's very concerning that you have six positives within one club. That's something we need to investigate in conjunction with the health authorities, because the protocols in place are designed to ensure there shouldn't be transmission within a club. Where we've had positives elsewhere this season, on the whole the games have gone on universally. The exceptions were the Aberdeen and Celtic games but that ultimately was a government decision. We have to create the situation where clubs have a real incentive to ensure their players are protected and games go on." Killie face having to forfeit their place in the Scottish League Cup, whatever the outcome of the investigation.

Struber Questions Owners

Barnsley manager Gerhard Struber is clearly angling for a move to Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls, who made an approach for him this week. The German manager has come out publicly to question the ambition of Barnsley's owners. Struber told the BBC: "For me, it's not the goal to always play in the relegation zone. I have other ambitions and aims and I cannot feel that the owners have the same ambitions and goals like me. My future is open and we will see. Every year, every season, this is a big, big fight with a big, big energy until the last game to stay in the league - and, one more time, it is a big question to the owners, is this the goal? For me, no."
