Tebas And Zidane In Unseemly Spat
La Liga president Javier Tebas has hit out at Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane for making excuses after his side drew 0-0 with Osasuna. Zidane was unhappy after La Liga forced Madrid to travel to Pamplona a day earlier than they intended to fly, as they believed inclement weather would have made travel that day impossible. The Madrid team were forced to sit and wait for 4 hours while the plane was stranded on the runway before their flight and Zidane has since claimed the match should have been postponed. Tebas has claimed that the Madrid version of events is not true and that no one forced them to travel on the Friday, saying: "Real Madrid's version of the story bothered me. I talked to their CEO 14 different times on Friday night and suggested him to travel on Saturday and he just told me 'no'. I will call Florentino Perez because I'm not happy with what happened behind the scenes. I don't know the kind of information Zidane had. I've seen so many excuses from coaches that this must be just another excuse." Zidane has now hit back at the suggestion he was making excuses: "I'm not going to answer. That's past. I'm already thinking about tomorrow's game, which is what interests me and my players. The other day I said what I said, but they weren't excuses. It was evidence."
