Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Olympique Marseille head coach Andre Villas-Boas has been suspended after he made "unacceptable comments" in a press conference. Among a number of comments which upset his bosses, former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea manager Villas-Boas had offered his resignation, as well as hitting out at the signing of Olivier Ntcham from Celtic. When referring to Ntcham, the Portugese manager said: "The transfer window finished with the arrival of a new player. A decision which wasn't taken by me. I had nothing to do with this decision. In fact, I learned about it in the press this morning. It is precisely a player for whom I said no. He was never a player on our list." Ntcham must be delighted to be joining a club where the head coach has said he just wants to leave because of his signing.

Following Ali Akman's agreement to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer when his Bursaspor contract expires, the Turkish club have suspended the 18 year old indefinitely. Bursa have termed his move an "unethical transfer" and claimed Akman has been unprofessional, though no details have been forthcoming on what exactly is unethical and unprofessional.

Everyone likes to have fun. I know when I can go, I know when I can do it, when I can't. Contrary to what people think, that I'm immature, that I don't know what I do." Neymar regularly takes time off in each season to return to Brazil for Rio's carnival with 'injuries'.

Koeman Works On Popularity On Merseyside

Ronald Koeman has blamed the Everton fans for his failings when in charge of the club, where he spent vast sums of money on dross such as Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Yannick Bolasie, Sandro Ramirez, Cuco Martina and Ashley Williams. Koeman said in an interview with Alan Shearer: "It was difficult, that period, because Everton are a club, and also the fans, who expect sometimes too much. I think sometimes they are still living in the past about the great seasons that they had at Everton." Koeman spent over £140m in just one summer while in charge at the Toffees.
