Football News: Pelle wants points more than goals

Southampton's summer addition, Graziano Pelle, has spoken of his disappointment at scoring his 10th goal of the season, as his team suffered defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

The Italian striker, who was a revelation in early weeks of the season, scored his first goal in 6 matches, but has admitted he would rather the team had won, rather than him scoring.

Pelle told the club's official website: "For me it's important personally to get to that target already, but I'm more frustrated when the team can't win.

"Of course it is not enough to score then at the end we lose the game. I would prefer to not score last time and somebody else did and then we win and have the three points.

"We're a team and we will try to reach something nice, something important. In this group there's nobody selfish. Everyone wants to do the best for the club, it's true.

"I'm happy. I'm not worried about this group, nobody likes to lose and when we lose we don't like it. That's the most important, next time we are going to win."
