Contracts
Transfers
Maccabi Petah Tikva have paid an undisclosed fee for Tranmere Rovers striker Morgan Ferrier.
Former Newcastle United full-back Achraf Lazaar has signed for Watford.
Liverpool have been ordered by tribunal to pay a compensation of £1.5m, possibly rising to £4.3m, to Fulham for Harvey Elliott.
Major League Soccer's Austin FC have paid just over £2m to sign Tomas Pochettino from CA Talleres.
Injury Round-Up
Sunderland will be without defender Jordan Willis for "a minimum of six months" after he suffered a serious knee injury.
Just as things seemed to be on the up for Newcastle United and their boss Steve Bruce with the return of talisman Allan Saint-Maximin to fitness, they have taken a desperate turn once again. The 3-2 win on Saturday over Southampton has come at a cost as they have lost striker Callum Wilson for 6 to 8 weeks with a hamstring injury, centre-back Fabian Schar for 8 weeks with torn knee ligaments and right-back Javier Manquillo also for 8 weeks with injured ankle ligaments.
PSG's Brazilian forward Neymar has been ruled out for around a month with a thigh injury, in his usual February break, which usually coincides with the Rio carnival. Neymar said (in possibly the world's most pathetic social media post): "The sadness is great, the pain is immense and the crying is constant. Once again, for a while, I will stop doing what I love most in life, which is playing football. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable because of my style of play, because I dribble and constantly get fouled, I don't know if the problem is me or what I do on the pitch." Does anyone out there feel sorry for him??
Managerial Changes
Former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has officially hung up his boots after over a year without a club and join Olimpik Donetsk as an assistant coach.
Disciplinary Charges
Both Newport County and Grimsby Town have been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players in their match on Sunday in League Two.
UEFA have opened (at last) disciplinary proceedings against the two Romanian match officials involved in a pitchside fracas during the Champions League tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir. The match in December was abandoned with the score at 0-0 after fourth official Sebastian Coltescu was accused of using a racist term towards Basaksehir assistant coach Pierre Webo. A heated exchange followed involving Webo, Coltescu and assistant referee Octavian Sovre which led to Webo being shown a red card as he protested against the racist term he alleged was used. Both sides then walked off the pitch and refused to play the game to a finish until the officials were replaced. The match was eventually completed the following day with a new group of officials and PSG won 5-1. UEFA's investigation into the incident concluded that Coltescu and Sovre were in breach of Article 11, as their "conduct is insulting or otherwise violates the basic rules of decent conduct".
