Ryan East has joined Swindon Town on a free transfer from Reading.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Jake Turner has signed for Colchester United on loan until January. Also leaving the Toon on loan, this time for the season, is young defender Kell Watts, who will spend the year with Wigan Athletic.

Oldham Athletic have made a quadruple signing. Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jamie Bowden has joined on a season-long loan deal. Ousseynou Cisse joins on a free after spending last season with Leyton Orient. Goalkeeper Danny Rogers and forward Jacob Blyth are also free signings.

After being released by Rotherham United in the summer, Kyle Vassell has joined Cheltenham Town.

Free agent Gambian international winger Mustapha Carayol has signed for League One side Gillingham.

Lincoln City's 1-1 draw with Gillingham was marred in the 4th minute by alleged racial abuse. Defender Cohen Bramall was among Lincoln players celebrating Tayo Edun's opener when the group clashed with Gills fans and it is alleged Bramall received racist abuse during the incident.

 


Tranmere Fan Ends Up As 4th Official

Normally a Premier League official, Mike Dean has finally found his level as he ended up working at a League Two match as an emergency 4th official. After an injury removed assistant referee Richard Bartlett from the game in the 53rd minute of the game between Tranmere Rovers and Walsall, Dean stepped in. The 53-year-old was in the stands to watch his beloved Rovers on opening day when the incident occurred.
