Injury Round-Up

Fleetwood Town defender Brad Halliday has been ruled out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Grant Ward is out for a "lengthy spell". The 26-year-old was injured playing for Blackpool at Bournemouth and had to be taken off on a stretcher. He will now have surgery on an Achilles tendon injury.

Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong is out of the Scotland squad due to a calf injury.

Manchester City's French international left-back Benjamin Mendy has been charged with 4 counts of rape and one of sexual assault. City have suspended the player.

 


Villa Donate Gate

Aston Villa have donated their 45% of gate receipts to Barrow. The two teams played in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and Villa have allowed the League Two side to keep 100% of the gate money.

 


Pep Moving On

In an online media event organised by a Brazilian company, Pep Guardiola revealed that he intends to leave Manchester City at the end of his contract in 2023 and move into international management. Guardiola said: "I think I'm going to have a stop. I'm going to have to take a break, see what we've done. Next step will be a national team, if there is a possibility."
