Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Walsall defender Manny Monthe has been charged with making a homophobic comment during a game. It is alleged that the 26-year-old, who was playing for Tranmere Rovers at the time, used "language that included a reference, whether express or implied, to sexual orientation" in a match on 1st May.

Morecambe manager Stephen Robinson has been charged with improper conduct following his sending off during his side's 4-3 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers.

Ipswich Town's James Norwood has had his driving ban suspended while awaiting an appeal. The 31-year-old had been banned for 40-months after being found guilty of drink-driving.

In the Championship, Huddersfield Town have been fined £5,000 for the behaviour of their players during their home win over Blackburn Rovers in October.

Coventry City striker Matt Godden has been charged by the Football Association for diving. The 30-year-old went down in the box to win a penalty but video evidence suggests Fulham defender Antonee Robinson made no contact with him. The FA have now charged him with "a clear act of simulation".

UEFA are investigating "potential discriminatory incidents" in the Europa League match between Sparta Prague and Rangers.

Hibernian's appeal against the red card shown to Ryan Porteous in their defeat to Rangers has been rejected.

A Brazilian footballer has been charged with attempted murder after he kicked a referee in the head for awarding a foul against him. William Ribeiro of Sport Club Sao Paulo attacked Rodrigo Crivellaro, who had to be taken to hospital. Sport Club Sao Paulo described the incident as "one of the worst in its history" and have sacked Ribeiro.

A Brighton & Hove Albion player in his 20s has been released on conditional bail following his arrest on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman. A 40 year old man was also questioned and bailed.

Tykes Close Stand

Barnsley have closed their West Stand due to safety concerns. It is the last part of the original stadium left but structural inspections have discovered that it needs "various remedial works". The stand has been in use for 130 years.

Toon Takeover Complete

The Saudi Arabian takeover of Newcastle United has finally been completed after the deal passed the Premier League owners' and directors' test. A Premier League statement read: "The Premier League, Newcastle United Football Club and St James Holdings Limited have today settled the dispute over the takeover of the club by the consortium of PIF, PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media. The legal disputes concerned which entities would own and/or have the ability to control the club following the takeover. All parties have agreed the settlement is necessary to end the long uncertainty for fans over the club's ownership. The Premier League has now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club. All parties are pleased to have concluded this process which gives certainty and clarity to Newcastle United Football Club and their fans."
