I wanted to share this achievement with you. After all, every little victory is a reason to celebrate, don't you think? I'm going to take this chance to do a new battery of exams, so I'm going to stay here for a few days. Don't worry, I'm just getting ready for the holiday season!"

Cumbrian Takeover Collapses

Carlisle United have been involved in a deal for a takeover since 2019, when Edinburgh Woollen Mill proposed a deal which was put to the EFL for approval. The deal was close until the English Football League required assurances that the Edinburgh Woollen Mill found unacceptable in December 2019. Since then, the company have been impacted by the pandemic and went into administration, being saved in January 2021. Due to the changes, Carlisle United Official Supporters Club withdrew their support for the deal in May 2021. The club are now left owing £2.4m, which the Woollen Mill loaned them in 2019 to put them on a "sound financial footing" ahead of their takeover. The Cumbrians are currently sat in 22nd place in League Two, fighting for their place in the EFL.
