Nottingham Forest's head coach Steve Cooper has said that the Premier League new-boys have not finished spending, despite already recruiting a whole new team and a player for the subs bench! Cooper said after the 12 additions so far: "I think there will be more ins and outs. It's not a straightforward process in bringing a player in, I don't know in terms of numbers. My focus is on the players that are already here, I imagine we're getting linked with all sorts of names, maybe some truth in them and some there will be no truth at all. My focus is on the guys who are coming into training every day and preparing for the next game, because they deserve 100% attention. We knew the changes were coming whatever league we were in this season. Even if we hadn't got promoted we knew there would be a lot of changes in personnel for a number of reasons. We knew it would be more of a change than normal in an ideal world. If I'm being honest, we would have liked to have carried on with a large part of the team from last year and just added where we thought we needed to add to to compete at the level, but that was never going to be the case. We had no alternative than to make the amount of changes that we've had to make - and are continuing to do so. Internally it's not a surprise, it's something we were ready for. It's not always a straightforward process bringing players in, but we're all calm inside and we are very happy with what we've done so far. There's still a good core of players who are still here, which was a massive part to our success last year and we want to continue to build that."

The only question is whether the leaked audio clip of him criticising Barca forward Ferran Torres played any part in his departure. Puig said of his former teammate: "Ferran Torres? Guardiola didn't even want him. He played 12 matches last year."
AJ Auxerre have paid £1.58m to Los Angeles FC for their midfielder Rayan Raveloson.

Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has revealed he nearly joined Ralf Rangnick's backroom staff at Manchester United last year: "When Ralf got appointed he called me, he said to me he wanted me on his staff. He said: 'You know the Premier League, you know players, you have a background that is close to theirs, you speak English and German and you can be the link between the squad and my staff'. For him he saw it as a perfect match and I'd be able to help him, he thought they'd respect me for who I was and what I'd done in the Premier League. It was a six-month assignment to go in and help but it didn't happen because the visa didn't get accepted. For me it's not a regret. Getting experience is always good - it would have been good to get that experience. I'm still working as hard as ever in life, probably even more now."
Disciplinary Charges
The Premier League have introduced mandatory sexual consent training for players and staff of all their clubs.
Sheffield United forward Oli McBurnie is set to face trial for assault after it was alleged he stamped on a Nottingham Forest fan during a pitch invasion by their fans.
Pointless List Of The Day
Today's pointless list is Training Ground Guru's Academy Productivity Rankings for 2020/21. It is important to note that these are an historical ranking for the number of graduates that are England-eligible who made at least one appearance in the season. Points are weighted according to the level the graduate played at in the season and when a player attended more than one academy the points are split between the clubs. But remember these points include any player who came through an academy that is still playing, for example Gary Cahill gets Aston Villa points despite leaving their academy in 2004! It also excludes players such as Wilfried Zaha, because he is an Ivory Coast international and any player on loan to another country than England.
