Chelsea Personal Ins and Outs 2023-2024 Season

Chelsea Personnel Ins and Outs 2023-2024 Season - Just a bit of fun :)

INs:

GK: Gregor Kobel

The best and most likely attainable keeper in the current market.

DF: Josko Gvardiol

Excellent 1:1 defender, quick, powerful, great feet, a bedrock of our defence for the next 10 years.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch

Potentially available at a cut rate price, technically very good, box to box midfielder, would be an excellent low risk replacement for Kovacic.

ATT: Christopher Nkunku, Victor Osimhen

Nkunku is already signed, brings attacking versatility. Osimhen is the best No. 9 who is potentially available this summer.

OUTs:

GK: Kepa Arizabalaga, Edouard Mendy

Neither are good enough to be No. 1 and with Kobel signing and Slonina as No. 2, both should be sold.

DF: Trevor Chalobah, Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marc Cucurella.

A mixture of letting go experience, to give game time to younger options and moving on players who aren't good enough for the starting 11. Trevor Chalobah is a good defender, but Chelsea are stacked in this position moving forward. The same with Cucurella who unfortunately hasn't lived up to the price tag. A move back to Italy and Spain respectively for Dave and Koulibaly at this stage of their careers seems good for all parties.

CM: Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Both have never lived up to their full potential at Chelsea in my opinion, especially Kovacic who should have been one of the world's best box to box midfielders. Time for both of them with 1 year left on their contracts to move on.

ATT: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Zeyich, Raheem Sterling, Romelu Lukaku.

No surprises here, I wouldn't have thought. Raheem Sterling, although not a bad player, should be sold to free up some attacking space for the likes of Mudryk and Madueke.

LOAN PLAYERS TO BE SOLD:

DF: Malang Sarr, Ethan Ampadu, Baba Rahman.
CM: Tiemeou Bakayoko
ATT: Callum Hudson Odoi, Romelu Lukaku

LOANs:

GK: N/ A
DF: Lewis Hall
CM: Carney Chukkaemeka, Cesare Casadei, Andrey Santos
ATT: David Fofana

SQUAD for 2023/ 2024

Goalkeepers:

Gregor Kobel
Gabriel Slonina
Marcus Bettinelli

Wingbacks:

Reece James
Malo Gusto
Ben Chillwell
Ian Maatsen

Centre-backs:

Benoit Badiashile
Wesley Fofana
Josko Gvardiol
Levi Colwill
Thiago Silva

Central Midfielders:

N'Golo Kante
Enzo Fernandez
Conor Gallagher
Ryan Gravernberch
Mason Mount

Attackers:

Kai Havertz
Mykhailo Mudryk
Noni Madueke
Christopher Nkunku
Victor Osimhen
Armando Broja

This leaves us a 23 man first team squad, which is more than enough for a season without Champions League football. This summer for me is about bringing in world class young talent whilst reducing the squad size. Important loans for players will be needed to continue development as well.
