Football News: Rangers Pre Season Friendlies Don't Paint A True Picture
2 seasons ago we beat R. Madrid in a friendly, and after only 45 minutes of play, there were some on here declaring Sakala as the next big thing, and the league was ours. Fast forward a season, and we beat West Ham in a friendly, and all of a sudden, Matondo is going to rip it up in the league, and the title is ours. How did both turn out?
You see, that's the problem with pre season friendlies, they're not great at painting a true picture! So after last night, it would appear there's a few on here who have already surrendered the league?! What? Pull your pants up, and behave like a man! Embarrassing!
Yes, we have looked poor, and it is difficult to see what formation we're trying to play, but it is very early days. Friendlies are all about experimenting to see what works. This isn't a magic wand thing, it was never going to automatically click from the first kick of the ball, was it?
Now, onto the things we know must happen. One thing is certain, there are players who we must try to move on, now. They are never going to help us win back the league.
Barisic is absolutely woeful, and a mere shadow of a player. If he is the first choice LB, we have a major issue?!
Davies just isn't physical enough, and for some reason, forgets the basics of clearing the ball out of the danger zone?! We need better and stronger.
Lundtrum?! Let's be honest, we got 3/4 months out of him during our run to EL final, and that's it! How many times did he give the ball away in the space of a minute last night?!
Matondo?! where do I start?! Who is going to take this poor player! I'd be taking him up to the most remotest part of the Highlands and leaving him there, in the hope he never finds his way back to Ibrox!
Hagi! According to some, the most skilful, and cleverest player we have?! Aye, right! If that was the case, I'd be wanting a helluva lot more from a player who has stood out in only one game, and as I was reminded, scored the winner in 2 single goal victories for us. That's in over 60 games he's played in, by the way! 🙈
All 5, plus a few more, must go!
Now, on to the new players. The only one I'm concerned about is Sima?! He looks exactly what he is. A player with very little confidence! Hopefully he comes good, soon, because one thing is certain, we need width, and this boy is much more a winger than a CF.
Remember, we still have 2 very good players to come in, and when they do, it will automatically enhance our starting 11. And by some margin!
So, to the posters who have thrown in the towel, please pick yourselves back up, lower your white flags, and take a long hard look at yourselves. C'mon, at least wait until the season starts before we lose the plot.
