Football News: Liverpool make easy work of Cherries

Liverpool progressed to the League Cup Semi Final after a much needed 3-1 win over Championship joint-leaders Bournemouth.
Liverpool have disappointed this season and would have been glad to see the end of last week which seen them eliminated from the Champions League and suffer a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Raheem Sterling lead the attack as Liverpool were once again without any recognized forwards in their starting line-up, and it was the youngster who got Liverpool going with a goal in the 20th minute, before Lazar Markovic found the net with his first Liverpool goal 7 minutes later. The match was over as a contest just after the break as Sterling helped himself to another to make it 3-0 before Dan Gosling grabbed a consolation for Bournemouth.
Liverpool will be pleased to be in the Semi Finals as they look to add to their 8 League Cup triumphs, and will be joined in the draw by Tottenham Hotspur who dispatched of Newcastle United 4-0 with goals from Bentaleb, Chadli, Kane and Soldado.
League Cup Semi Final Draw: Liverpool v Chelsea & Tottenham v Sheffield United. First legs week commencing 19th Jan and Second legs week of 26th Jan 2015.
