Football News: I fear the worst for Glasgow Rangers

This is not a 'I told you so' post, please believe me!

Last season, when Philippe Clement (PC) was getting lauded as the new Messiah, I urged caution. Yes, he had us on a winning run, and got us back into the league, but if we're honest, the football wasn't very good - Us getting back to the top of the league was down to the Tims going through a bad patch as much as it was us winning! The Hearts game aside, our football was still slow, boring, and not the best.

PC was lapping up the adulation! He was everywhere, and every newspaper, forum, media station wanted a bit if him. He was on a roll and was heralded as the man to save Rangers. There he was, nearly every day, cool, calm, collected, waxing lyrical about his footballing philosophy, and how he was relaxed and confident of giving all our players a chance, depending on who we were playing. It was his decisions! And as we were winning, this never changed.

Then! Well, things changed! First, we got beat at home by a poor Motherwell side. "Not to worry" said the masses, "we can't win them all"! Then we "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" against Benfica, and we're out of the EL. Again, the masses cry "nothing to worry about, we can concentrate on the League".

Which I admit, I had no issue with as the league was more important. However, this is where I noticed a difference in PC. His interviews were different! How he spoke changed! His words became a bit bizarre - nothing too worrying, but you could see a difference. Then came the home game against the Tims! When we had a chance to slap them back down, in front of all our fans, we blew it. That was the game I knew! That was the game, and the way he behaved after the game, my spidy senses told me he was not going to cut it. My heart sank!

From there on in, after the Tim game, I made my feelings clear on him. Was I targeted? Bloody right i was! Was i accused of all sorts? Yip! Was i called a Tim? Of course i was! Then, following on from that game, we threw the league, lost the cup final, and it was all gone. We blew it!

So, not only did we witness our team blowing it, we witnessed a seismic shift in our manager's behaviour. His interviews were getting more and more bizarre. His press conferences were becoming a laughingstock, and he was getting ridiculed for some of the stuff he was spouting. Was this the same guy? Yip! But, he was cracking, and unfortunately for us, he had become another crap manager who would fail miserably, and leave us fans depressed, and feeling totally deflated, once again.

Look, I don't need to remind you what went on from there, we're all living it every day. From seeing our once great club celebrating a narrow League Cup victory like we had won the Champions League, watching the worst football we have witnessed since Pedro's days, to watching our clown of a manager doing the hokey cokey when trying to justify big Souttar's hand ball. It's a S. Show! We are a shambles! A comedy act! A disaster, both on, and off, the field.

When does this end? Will it ever end? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? And most importantly. Can we afford to sack PC and have the funds to appoint the right manager?

I'm sure some will acuse me of trying to get an one-upmanship and that I should be ashamed of myself trying to say "I told you so"! But that's not what this is! I'm hurting! I can't believe we're here again! I can't believe we're watching our club fall apart again! How in God's name was this allowed to happen? I can tell you part of the reason! Because, for some reason, many of our support believe we're too good to make a noise. "It's not the Rangers way, leave that up to the Tims"! You can deny it all you want, but it's true!

The Glasgow Rangers I knew, and grew up with, from when I bought my Season Ticket, right through 9 in a row, to 'The wee General', big Eck, The gaffer's 2nd coming, and even 55, is no more! We are a badly run club, no money, and the worst set of players I have witnessed in years, led by an absolute shambles of a manager. We have no direction off the field, and nothing on it. We are now sliding into obscurity faster than Clement can spout another steaming pile of Jimmy White, and I fear the worst.

So, can someone please tell me I'm wrong? Can anyone give me some confidence? Can anyone convince me we're "going in the correct direction"? Please, because I need something! Anything! Just a hint of a light at the end of this endless dark tunnel will do?!
