Liverpool FC: Is It Time to Act on Arne Slot?

Reflections on changing views about Liverpool Manger, Arne Slot. Comparing the current situation to other clubs and questioning whether fresh ideas are needed at Anfield.
Felt like I wanted the dust to settle a bit before I wrote this. Game after game this season, I've found myself watching matches hoping we get a result rather than expecting one. The shift in mentality as a supporter tells its own story about where we are right now under Slot.
The Reality Check
Until recently, I believed Slot could get this team playing and had it in him to turn the season around. Every manager goes through phases of poor form with indifferent results, and I was willing to give him time. But the stats don't lie, and this malaise isn't showing signs of lifting. This team, at this time, under this manager needs fresh ideas and fresh energy.
When I look at Villa, the players have belief instilled by their manager. Same with City - although their form has been sketchy, they don't lose games in the manner we're losing them. Arsenal might divide opinion on Arteta, but those players run out and perform for him and the jersey. He's instilled that belief in them, much like Klopp did for us.
The Missing Connection
I'm not seeing that connection with Slot. Our great managers have always had that special bond with fans, supporters and players alike, and they harness that energy. That bond simply isn't there, and he's finding it as big a hurdle as any tactical issue. Jurgen's bond and passion got him over the line on many occasions, even through his own poor spells of form.
Truth is, I don't know who the answer is. Any prospective new manager would be pretty alarmed at our decline and the quality available to them. There are bigger problems than just the manager - players not performing or seemingly not wanting to perform, a terribly imbalanced squad that's ageing in key areas, and too many squad members who simply aren't good enough for a club of our calibre when compared to Arsenal and City.
The Bigger Picture
Champions League and FA Cup aside, the league campaign is teetering on a cliff edge. The consequences of not securing Champions League football next season will have a massive impact on recruitment and managerial prospects. That's the reality we're facing.
So from being a believer to sitting on the fence, I'm now thinking it might be time to act. Plan for a future without Slot and get some energy back into the place. Sometimes change is needed, even when it's not easy to accept.
