Chelsea's January Window Plans Taking Shape

The Blues are busy behind the scenes with Sterling departures and defender targets as the transfer window approaches its final days.
There seems to be a lot of work going on behind the scenes to secure both outgoing and incoming players this window, with Chelsea in negotiations with the Sterling camp to cancel his contract or sell him on, probably at a loss of around £15 million for amortisation purposes. It's further proof that buying experienced Premier League players is not always the answer.
Defensive Movements
Disasi is attracting a bit of interest, as is George, and it looks likely that Anselmino may go straight out on loan to a Premier League club if, and only if, a new centre-back comes in. That centre-back may well be Jeremy Jacquet, who is attracting huge interest all across Europe despite only playing around 50 games in the French league.
He is rated very highly by the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and may prove difficult to get over the line in this window. But such is his high ceiling that he would be considered a very astute piece of business by those scouting him. Recent reports indicate Chelsea hold pole position, with Jacquet expressing a preference for the Blues amid ongoing talks with Rennes, though a January move remains challenging as the Ligue 1 club prefer to retain him until summer.
Managerial Influence
Maresca appears to be the one pushing for his signing in this window whilst the sporting directors would be happy to wait until the summer. Will our new head coach get his way on this one is the question I ask myself.
Midfield Options
It appears the club had no interest in Douglas Luiz, but are open to a move for a midfielder, though this will probably be left until the summer. The Liverpool lad Curtis Jones does fit the club's profile, but would the player want to leave his boyhood club? Could be a busy last few days in what has, so far, been a very quiet window.
