Villa Fans Need Perspective and Positivity

Aston Villa supporters are being urged to cut out the booing and back the side, with the view that Unai Emery and the squad are competing as well as they can.
I think some Aston Villa fans have completely lost perspective. Booing at yesterday's game was poor, as was the endless whinging I could hear in the North Stand. Be positive and back your team.
Remember Where Villa Have Been
I've been a fan since 1985. In that time we've had decent spells under Taylor, Atkinson, Little, O'Neill and Emery (maybe Dean Smith). Decent spells where we either did win something, or looked like we could win something, or at least compete.
But I'd say under Emery we're most consistent, consistently competing in the league (7th, 4th, 6th and whatever happens this year). In doing so, consistently beating the so-called big six or seven. And we're in Europe again.
Backing the Club Matters
Clearly, the club are trying to do the best they can within the legislation they are working in. Clearly the manager and players are doing the best they can with what they've got.
And clearly the club, the manager and the players need us cheering them on week in, week out, without booing and offering up "I told you so" statements.
Plenty to Take from the Game
Look at the positives yesterday. Yes, not a great performance at times, but substitutions made a difference. We were by far the better team most of the second half and deserved a point.
We played with two up front, bold and aggressive to get something out of the game. We brought on attack-minded players. Emery and the team tried everything they could to get something out of that game.
The Run-In Will Not Be Straightforward
Every game between now and the end of the season will be tough. The Premier League is incredibly difficult; regardless of league position, every team is capable of taking points off everyone else.
So Villa are not going to stroll around the pitch and win 5-0. They will have to work hard, battle and fight to the end to get every possible point available. And to do that they will need us being positive every single step of the way.
Get some perspective, and get behind the team.
