Wolverhampton Wanderers utility man Tommy Rowe is facing 3 months out after requiring surgery for a foot injury.

The 25 year old suffered the injury just after coming onto the pitch as a substitute in the 1-0 Boxing Day victory over Watford.

Phil Hayward, head of medical at Molineux, said: "Tommy fractured his fifth metatarsal and had surgery on Monday.

"He is likely to be out for around 3 months. It's a frustrating situation for him having recovered from a stress fracture to this same bone in the summer.

"He'll be working hard to maintain his fitness over the coming months to give himself every chance of quickly getting back into the side once the fracture has healed and being able to play a part in the Championship run-in."
