Arsenal Season Review

This has been an incredible season for Arsenal, who were poor in the early stages but Alexis Sanchez was able to carry them, then came good as the season went on to end up in third place, instead of their usual fourth place.

The addition of Sanchez was a masterstroke by Arsene Wenger, bringing him in showed ambition, desire, and gave the team a whole different dimension to their attacking play, plus his great attitude and workrate tracking back aided the defensive play.

With Francis Coquelin stepping in for the second half of the season, just as it looked their season would fade out, and he filled that defensive midfield role like he was born to play there, the Gunners were able to challenge for second.

Wenger has also planned ahead for next season, by bringing in Gabriel, who should provide a better defensive solidity and more pace to the backline.

The Gooners are on the verge of a team to challenge for the league, another signing of the quality of the much maligned but better than he is given credit for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will put them within reach of that challenge, especially if the can avoid major injuries.

Speaking of injuries and it brings me to Arsenal's best signing of the season, their new head of 'Performance Enhancement' Shad Forsythe, who has completely overhauled the fitness work at the club.

With the addition of Shad, and the hopes it will stop the club spending most of its season missing key players, Arsenal must be looking up the table for next season.
