Contracts

Liverpool have given their academy manager Alex Inglethorpe a new 'long-term' contract.

Brighton & Hove Albion's former Manchester United and Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck has signed a new 2-year contract.

Huddersfield Town right-back Ollie Turton has agreed a 3-year deal.

Jacob Greaves has signed on for 4 more years with Hull City.

Experienced Huddersfield Town skipper Jonathan Hogg has signed a 2-year contract.

Rayan Cherki has signed a 2 year deal with option for a further year with Olympique Lyonnais.

Fiorentina midfielder Alessandro Bianco has signed a 4-year contract with option for a further year.

Ajax have given defender Jurrien Timber a new 3-year deal.

Italian defender Pasquale Mazzochi has agreed a 4-year contract with Salernitana.

Brentford have given Danish defender Zanka a new 1-year deal with an option for a further year.

Veteran striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new 2-year contract with Leicester City.

 


Transfers

Manchester United have paid £63.59m to Real Madrid to sign experienced Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

Tanguy Ndombele has signed for Napoli on loan for the season from Tottenham Hotspur for a loan fee of £450,000. The deal has an option to make it permanent.

Nottingham Forest have paid a club-record fee to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The initial fee is £26.55m but add-ons could take it over £40m.

Newcastle United's head coach Eddie Howe has ruled out talk of selling Bruno Guimaraes to Real Madrid. Howe said: "We want to build that squad and enhance the group, not take away our best players."

St Mirren have signed Alex Goigic on a free transfer from Hibernian.

VfB Stuttgart forward Darko Churlinov has joined Burnley for an undisclosed fee of £3.15m.

OGC Nice have had a bid rejected for Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz.

Ryan Woods has signed for Hull City after they paid Birmingham City an undisclosed fee for the midfielder.

Ipswich Town defender Corrie Ndaba has signed for Burton Albion on a season-long loan deal.

Cardiff City have loaned Mark McGuinness out to Sheffield Wednesday for the season.

Wycombe Wanderers have signed former Chelsea youngster Charles Hagan on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.

Crawley Town have made a double signing. An undisclosed fee has been paid for David Bremang from Barnsley and David Robson has arrived on loan from Hull City until January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent Joe O'Shaughnessy to Bradford City on loan for the season.

West Ham United have loaned winger Thierry Nevers to Newport County for the rest of the season.

Bristol City's Duncan Idehen has joined Carlisle United on loan until January.

Celta Vigo have taken Christian Joel on loan from Sporting Gijon.

Argentine winger Matias Pellegrini has moved across Major League Soccer on a free transfer as he has joined New York City FC from Inter Miami.

Spezia full-back Luca Vignali has joined Como.

Waldo Rubio has signed for Tenerife on a free transfer from Real Valladolid.

Venezia have paid Bayer Leverkusen £2.25m for Finnish forward Joel Pohjanpalo.

Sharjah have signed Paco Alcacer on a free transfer from Villareal after two days there on loan.

Stade Rennais midfielder Yann Gboho has signed for Cercle Brugge on a free transfer.

An £8.1m fee has been paid by Atalanta to signed Brandon Soppy from Udinese.

Ajax have paid £8.55m for teenage Turkish defender Ahmetcan Kaplan from Trabzonspor.

Getafe have taken Omar Alderete on loan from Hertha Berlin.

Chelsea have paid £13.5m teenage Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Monza defender Davide Bettella has signed for Palermo on loan.

Brazilian youngster Reinier has joined Girona on loan from Real Madrid. Also joining Girona on loan is Leganes full-back Javi Hernandez for a loan fee of £450,000.

Perugia have taken experienced forward Luca Strizzolo on loan from Cremonese.

Wycombe have signed Max Stryjek on a free transfer from Livingston.

Anorthosis Famagusta have signed Majeed Waris on a free transfer from Racing Strasbourg.

Torino have signed Perr Schuurs from Ajax for £8.1m.

Monza have loaned Pedro Pereira to Alanyaspor.

Salernitana have paid a £900,000 loan fee to take Boulaye Dia on loan from Villareal.

Cadiz have signed Antonio Blanco from Real Madrid on loan.

KRC Genk have received a £7.2m fee from Bologna for Jhon Lucumi.

Celtic have loaned youngster Johnny Kenny to Queen's Park.

Falkirk have loaned teenager Kyle Connolly to East Stirlingshire.

Barcelona head coach Xavi has confirmed that the club still need to sell players in order to register new defensive signing Jules Kounde.

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Georgian teenage wunderkind Luka Parkadze from Dinamo Tbilisi at the end of the season.

 


Injury Round Up

Cardiff City defender Jamilu Collins has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The Nigerian international has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Sheffield United's veteran striker Billy Sharp has picked up an ankle injury, which has included damage to the ligaments.

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Charlie Colkett is out of action for at least 3 months due to a tear in his hamstring.

A hamstring tendon injury has ruled Newport County forward Offrande Zanzala out for two months.

 


Job Changes

Manchester City have appointed Dan Lewindon to a new role of Director of Player Health and Performance. Lewindon was working as Head of High Performance Science and Medicine at the LTA, working alongside City's Performance Director Simon Timson there. Lewindon's role will involve looking at what players do outside of football, including sleep, nutrition and mental wellbeing.

Rochdale have sacked manager Robbie Stockdale after their start to the season saw them lose all 4 league games. Dale are currently rock bottom of the English Football League. Veteran defender Jim McNulty has been placed in interim control of the first team.

Celtic's B team manager Tommy McIntyre has left the job and Celtic after 13 years at the club. He will be replaced by Stephen McManus, who will be assisted by Darren O'Dea.

After just four games in charge Arminia Bielefeld have sacked their head coach Ulrich Forte.

 


Disciplinary Charges

Chelsea's head coach Thomas Tuchel has been given a 1-match touchline ban and fined £35,000 over his confrontation with Tottenham Hotspur's Antonio Conte at the end of their draw on Sunday. The ban is suspended pending the full written reasons for the decision. Conte has also been fined £15,000.

Hellas Verona are being investigated for the racist abuse aimed at Napoli striker Victor Osimhen by Serie A. Verona, whose fans have a long history of racist behaviour isssues, have also been fined 12,000 euros for "territorial discrimination" chants towards Napoli fans and a further 3,000 euros fine for crowd disturbances which included throwing objects onto the pitch. This feels like it should go into the pointless list section as Serie A have repeatedly failed to do anything worthwhile to deal with the racist abuse emanating from fans in Italy. They are usually too busy brushing it under the carpet to actually act.

Barnsley have condemned their fans after there was discriminatory chanting towards a female member of the Bristol Rovers' staff during their League One fixture on Tuesday. Barnsley stated: "This is totally unacceptable and Barnsley FC condemn any behaviour of this manner. The club prides itself on providing an inclusive, family friendly environment."

Barrow have banned some fans who made "abhorrent remarks" during a match against Walsall. The remarks related to the death of a Walsall fan a couple of months ago.

AFC Wimbledon have had defender Chris Gunter's red card and subsequent 3-match ban, overturned for "wrongful dismissal".

Newport County are banning two fans from Rodney Parade for throwing coins during their League Two match against Salford City. Newport said that two males were caught on CCTV lobbing coins towards Salford staff during the game.
