Football News: West Brom sack Irvine

West Bromwich Albion have become the second Premier League club to sack their manager this season, following Crystal Palace's firing of Neil Warnock just a few days ago.

The Baggies have removed Alan Irvine from control of the Midlands club after a run of poor form has left them in serious danger of relegation this season.

Irvine arrived from Everton's academy just 198 days ago on June 14th, on a 12 month rolling contract as Albion's head coach.

After spending a club record fee on striker Brown Ideye during the summer, along with a large number of other signings, much was expected of the club this season.

After seven defeats in their last nine matches, the Baggies board have decided it is time to move on from Irvine and have begun their search for a new manager.
