Football News: De Boer rules himself out of Newcastle job

Frank De Boer's agent has ruled the Ajax manager out of the running for the Newcastle United job.

The former Netherlands international defender's agent Guido Albers has denied any contact with the Tyneside club.

"Frank will never leave Ajax during this season," Albers said. "There has been no contact to myself, or Ajax, from another club for Frank. We have received no approach at this stage."

De Boer is a former Ajax and Barcelona star who took charge of the Amsterdam club in 2010 and has since gone on to win the Eredivisie four times in a row.

In April he was linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job and included the Toon in a list of teams he considered sleeping giants.

"I see a perspective at Tottenham Hotspur, just as Liverpool and Newcastle United sometimes are, they are sleeping giants," he said.
