Football News: Arsenal teenager takes US citizenship

Arsenal's young teenage star Gedion Zelalem has been in Washington to finalise the naturalisation process for US citizenship.

Zelalem is eligible for Germany and Ethiopia, as well as the USA, after being born in Germany to Ethiopian parents, then moving to the US while a child.

His father took citizenship earlier in the year and now Gideon has also become a US citizen.

Zelalem's German citizenship allowed him to sign for Arsenal, for who he has played in the Champions League already.

It is expected that he will choose to commit his international future to the USMNT.
