2. Pep joins City, at last
Manchester City have finally confirmed that Manuel Pellegrini will be leaving in the summer and that the much coveted Pep Guardiola will be his replacement. Guardiola had confirmed a while ago that he would be leaving Bayern Munich in the summer and that he would be heading to the English Premier League for his next job. The club and both coaches have decided to confirm the news in order to put a stop to the constant speculation. This could have been a return for Guardiola, as he had the chance to join the Citizens while still playing, when then manager Stuart Pearce offered the Spaniard a trial in 2005.

3. Charlton release pair
Troubled London side Charlton Athletic have released a pair of players. Striker Ricardo Vaz Te joined in the summer but has failed to score a single goal in his 11 appearances. His contract has now be cancelled to give him the chance to find a new club. Franck Moussa joined the Addicks from Coventry City two years ago but has struggled with injuries and it was felt time to let him move on. Loan signing Rhys Williams has also left, to return to parent club Middlesbrough.

4. Neil claims Bamford is worth £10m
Norwich City have moved to snap up striker Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea after he returned to the Blues following a failed spell with Crystal Palace, also on loan. Last season the 22 year old was feted as he was named Championship Player of the Year while on another loan spell, this time with Middlesbrough. "Obviously he did extremely well last season and won the Championship Player of the Year," Neil said of Bamford. "If we had tried to recruit him in the summer you would have been talking double figures - £10 million-plus. The fact we can get that calibre of player in on a loan deal between now and the end of the season will hopefully increase our firepower and give us a bit more competition."

5. Perez gets new deal to ward off interest
Ayoze Perez has been one of the few successes for Newcastle United in recent years after arriving from Tenerife in the summer transfer window of 2014. With interest in his signature increasing, the Toon have moved to award him a new deal. "Newcastle gave me everything and I'm really pleased to sign this new contract. It's a special day for me, a big day for me," said the Spanish under-21 international. "The truth is I'm really happy here, so it's a good thing for me - and I hope it's the same for the Geordie family." Steve McClaren added: "I am delighted that Ayoze has signed a new deal. He is a very good player with huge potential and someone we believe has a very big future at Newcastle United. We are building this Club for the long-term and Ayoze is a very important part of that."

6. Rojo went along to watch a friendly match while at his old club recovering and.....
Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo has headed home to Argentina while injured, to do some rehabilitation with his former club. While there his cousin has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and the friendly match he went along to watch between Estudiantes and Gimnasia turned out to be anything but friendly:

7. Klopp delight as injuries begin to clear up
While Jurgen Klopp was not able to present any new signings today, he was able to present good news for Liverpool fans as he announced the imminent return of some of his injured players. Central defender Martin Skrtel is two or three days more away from training, which would just leave young Joe Gomez, who is expected to miss the rest of the season, as the only defender ruled out through injury. In midfield, Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho is expected to return to training on Thursday, along with Belgium striker Divock Origi. Before that though is the surprise news that England striker Daniel Sturridge will be back in training a day ahead of those two. "Martin [Skrtel] needs two or three days' more time. Divock [Origi] and Phil [Coutinho] and Daniel [Sturridge] should return to training - Daniel on Wednesday and the other two on Thursday. That's the plan. These are our transfers... four new players for LFC! That is good for us, of course" said Klopp in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday's game against Leicester City.

8. Possibly the only thing Villa fans have had to smile about all season
A young Aston Villa mascot was able to enact some small measure of revenge for the way Fabian Delph left Villa to join Manchester City in the summer, as he snubbed his handshake:

9. QPR swoop for Burton player
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has returned to former club Burton Albion to strengthen his QPR side. 26 year old Dutch forward Nasser El Khayati has agree a two and a half year deal with the Londoners, joining for an undisclosed fee. El Khayati has scored 8 goals in 26 appearances this season. He is QPR's third signing, following the additions of Matt Ingram and Conor Washington.

10. Revs add DP
Major League Soccer team New England Revolution have swooped to add a designated player. Designated players are a way to get round the salary cap, as they count against the salary cap at a maximum charge of $436,250 (last year), even if paid considerably more. The Revs have moved to sign Xavier Kouassi from FC Sion as one of their 3 DP's they are allowed. Kouassi is currently Sion captain and will join the Revs in the summer when his contract expires.
