Transfers

Chester youngster Tom Crawford has moved to Notts County for an undisclosed fee. The 19 year old has just made his England C debut.

SPFL side Livingston have signed midfielder Craig Sibbald on a free transfer from Falkirk. The 23 year old has agreed a two year deal.

Jose Baxter has agreed to join Oldham Athletic on a one year deal 'in principle'. The 26 year old had been playing for Everton's under-23s side after returning from a drugs ban.

Newcastle United have completed the permanent signing of on loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. The 29 year old had arrived in January on loan from Sparta Prague, proving himself to be a key player for the Toon in the second half of the season.

Former England defender John Terry has left Aston Villa following their failure to achieve promotion through the play-offs.

Scott Cuthbert has found a new club following his release by Luton Town and agreed a two year deal with Stevenage.

Michael Dawson has returned to his first club, signing a 2 year deal with Nottingham Forest. The 34 year old former England international was out of contract with Hull City.

Wigan Athletic have signed Kai Naismith from Portsmouth on a free transfer.

League One's Gillingham have made a double signing, picking up two midfielder on two year contracts. Regan Charles-Cook has arrived from Charlton Athletic, while Dean Parrett moves from AFC Wimbledon. Both signings were free transfers after turning down deals at their previous clubs.

George Taft has joined Cambridge United for the fourth time. The 24 year old had been at the club for three separate loan spells and moved on a permanent basis following his release by Mansfield Town.

Grimsby Town have spent an undisclosed amount to sign defender Alex Whitmore from Chesterfield.

Alex Woodyard has left Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee to join Peterborough United.

French fullback Nordi Mukiele has made a £14m move from Montpellier to RB Leipzig in Germany.

FC Augsburg have signed Andre Hahn from Hamburg for £2.7m.

Fiorentina have spent £8m to clinch the signature of Argentine centre back German Pezzella from Real Betis.

 

Wagner Signs New Huddersfield Deal

After masterminding Huddersfield Town's surprising escape from relegation last season, David Wagner has signed a new 3 year deal with the Terriers. Wagner said: "The decision to extend my stay at this club was not a difficult one. The relationship Christoph, Andy and I have with [chairman] Dean Hoyle, the rest of the board, the staff and the supporters is special. We've achieved some incredible things together in two and a half years and now I'm excited about the future. We still have a lot of work to do as we adapt to life in the Premier League, but this club and its people have the ambition, desire and attitude to take this challenge on."

 

FIFA Drop World Cup Ref For Match-Fixing

A Saudi Arabian referee, Fahad Al-Mirdasi, has been dropped from the 2018 World Cup refereeing pool after been banned from officiating for life by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. It was alleged Al-Mirdasi had admitted trying to fix the King's Cup final between Al-Ittihad and Al-Faisaly.

 

Bolt Makes Latest Attempt To Launch Football Career

Following spells training with Borussia Dortmund in Germany and Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, Usain Bolt is now in Norway trying to win himself a contract with Stromgodset. The 100m world record holder has been trying to embark on a football career since he quit athletics with eight gold medals in his pocket. The 31 year old is one of the captains at this year's Soccer Aid match on the 10th June.

 

Egypt Given Fresh Salah Hope

Egypt's national team doctor has met Mohamed Salah following the injury he received on club duty for Liverpool to see if he would be fit for World Cup duty. The Egyptian FA said after the meeting: "After the meeting of Abu Rida and the doctor of the national team in Spain today, the Football Association reaffirms Salah in the World Cup, God willing, will not exceed the absence of three weeks."

 

Lewandowski Wants Move

Poland forward Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer, according to his new agent Pini Zahavi. Zahavi confirmed speculation about Lewandowski's future when he said: "Robert feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career. The managers of Bayern know about it." The striker was the Bundesliga's top scorer once again last season with 29 goals.
