Review of the Day

Transfers

19 year old forward Tristan Abrahams has joined Exeter City on a season-long loan deal from Norwich City.

League Two side Oldham Athletic have signed Johan Branger from FC Dieppe.

Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici has left Bournemouth to join Stoke City, replacing the outgoing Lee Grant, who has joined Manchester United. Man Utd have also sold a keeper, Sam Johnstone, for an initial £6.5m fee. Johnstone has agreed a 4 year deal with West Bromwich Albion.

Austrian forward Andreas Weimann has left Derby County to join Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

Sheffield United winger Nathan Thomas has moved on a season-long loan to Notts County.

Following his release from St Mirren, striker Gavin Reilly has moved to Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.

Callum Reilly has returned to Gillingham on a permanent deal after spending the second half of last season there on loan. The fee paid to Bury is undisclosed.

Nottingham Forest have also turned a loan deal permanent with their signing of Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon for an undisclosed fee.

Pawel Cibicki has left Leeds United for a loan spell with Molde in Norway. The 24 year old Swede only joined Leeds last August but has struggled to break into the team.

James Vincent has returned to Dunfermline Athletic on loan from Dundee. Defender Kerr Waddell has also left Dundee on loan, to join Greenock Morton for six-months.

Jordan Cranston has found a new club following his release from Cheltenham Town. The 24 year old full-back has signed for Morecambe.

Ben Heneghan has moved to Blackpool on a season-long loan from Sheffield United of the Championship.

After only joining Serie B club Benevento yesterday, former Spurs midfielder Sandro has moved to Genoa.

One time Croatian wunderkind Alen Halilovic has left Hamburg following their relegation to move to Serie A giants AC Milan on a free transfer.

Valencia have sold Zakaria Bakkali to RSC Anderlecht for just over £1m. The Belgians have also signed Croatian striker Ivan Santini for £2.7m from Ligue 1 side Caen.

Lazio have paid just under £7m for Valon Berisha from RB Salzburg.

Yohan Cabaye has chosen to move to Dubai, following his release from Crystal Palace. The French midfielder has signed for Al Nasr in the UAE.

Teenage defender Nehuen Perez has moved to Atletico Madrid. The 18 year old centre back has signed a 6 year contract after completely a move from Argentinos Juniors.

UEFA Reviewing PSG Decision

Following last month's announcement that Paris Saint-Germain had been cleared of breaking FFP rules but they would be keeping the club under close scrutiny, UEFA have now said they will review it. Review the decision to close it. Talk about indecisive!

Extended Deals

Cardiff City's full-back Joe Bennett has signed a contract extension. The 28 year old left-back will be contracted to the Bluebirds until 2021.

Callum Chambers, the English defender who joined from Southampton back in 2014, has extended his contract with Arsenal. The Gunners defender has signed a 4 year deal.

Nabil Fekir's little brother, Yassin, has signed a new contract with Lyon.

Poland's Coach To Step Down

Adam Nawalka, the 60 year old coach of Poland, will be leaving the role in July, when his contract expires. The Polish FA have decided to go in a different direction following a difficult World Cup for the Poles. Poland were the first European team to be eliminated from the World Cup after losing their first 2 matches.

Korea Decide Against Egg Throwing Action

The Korean Football Association have told airport police at Incheon that they do not wish to press charges against the people who threw eggs at the returning South Korean team. The bizarre incident, right on the back of a shock victory over Germany in the World Cup, happened at the airport as the team were lining up for a photograph at Incheon Airport. Four years ago they were also pelted on their early return from the World Cup, that time by toffees, which is considered extremely insulting in South Korea.

Neymar Admits To Being a Wuss

Neymar has 'defended' himself against all the stick he has been taking over his amateur dramatic overacting by saying: "I just feel the pain". That might have been believable, that he is just a pathetic little wussy baby, but 90% of the playacting is after no contact or contact on a completely different part of the body from that which he is holding. Let's be honest, the guy does not feel the pain, he is just a cheat. Great ability but a pathetic little cheat who should be ashamed of his ridiculous rolls.

Germany Stick With The Low Road

Joachim Low is set to stay on as Germany manager despite their shocking and embarrassing capitulation in the group stages of the World Cup. Low said: "I feel, in spite of the legitimate criticism of our departure, generally much support and encouragement. But now I want to design the rebuilding with full commitment. It all takes time, but everything will happen in time for the start of the new international season in September."

Mikel Reveals Father's Kidnap

Jon Obi Mikel has revealed that his father was kidnapped in his home country of Nigeria for the second time in seven years. Michael Obi and his driver were abducted at gunpoint on the 26th of June, something Mikel was only told of a few hours before he was to face Argentina in the World Cup, a game Nigeria lost 2-1. Mikel decided not to tell any of his team-mates or even inform the Nigerian Football Federation until after the game to avoid it being a distraction. Mikel told the BBC: "For the second time I've had to live with the fears of losing my father and it is very scary. Today it's my dad but tomorrow it could be someone else which makes it very scary. We are seeing a spate of terror attacks in some parts of the country which has already sown insecurity among citizens. It does not matter what your status is in Nigeria, everyone deserves to feel safe and secured, as life becomes more risky than ever." The release of his father was preceded by a gun battle between police and the kidnappers during which the kidnappers fled and left the hostages behind to be rescued.
