Review of the Day

Transfers

Defenders Jack Baldwin has swapped one League One side for another as he completes his move to Sunderland from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.

Peru's brutally fast right back, Luis Advincula, has moved from Mexican side Tigres UANL on loan to Rayo Vallecano. Vallecano have also added veteran Spanish right back Tito on a free from Leganes.

Ikeme Set To Be Offered Nigeria Role

Recently retired former Nigerian international Carl Ikeme is set to be offered a role on the backroom staff of the national team. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have offered to send him on coaching courses to get his badges before employing him as a coach. NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi said: "The NFF will find the resources to send Carl Ikeme on a coaching course, and afterwards absorb him into the technical crew of the Super Eagles. That is the least we can do for such a dedicated patriot. He was an embodiment of absolute dedication, commitment and patriotic fervour in the games that he played for the Super Eagles. The circumstances of his retirement from the game are somewhat depressing, even as we thank God for his life."

Lafferty's Head Turned By Rangers' Bid

Hearts manager Craig Levein has said that last season's top scorer Kyle Lafferty has had his head turned by interest from his former club Rangers. Rangers made a £200,000 offer for Lafferty last week, which was immediately rejected, though Levein admits that players are "always for sale". Levein said: "We've spoken to Kyle and his head has been turned a little bit. But, to his credit, he has been very professional and I was pleased with his performance when he went on. We just get on with things. We had an offer from Rangers, which is not what we are looking for, and we just get on with it."

Burnley's Pope To See Specialist

Burnley's England international goalkeeper Nick Pope is set to see a specialist after suffering a shoulder dislocation in a pre-season friendly against Aberdeen. Pope only got a run of games initially after Tom Heaton suffered a shoulder injury which saw him miss almost the whole of last season. Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "It's a definite dislocation, we know that, but it's the grading of it and how the specialist views it. We will wait and see on that and we have no timescales at the moment."

Neymar Admits Exaggerating Reactions To Tackles

World Cup diving champion Neymar Jr has admitted in an advert (so only when getting paid to do so will the little **** be honest) that he cheated, sorry exaggerated, during the World Cup. Neymar said in the advert: "You may think I exaggerate. And sometimes I do exaggerate. But the truth is I suffer on the pitch." Suffer? The talk of how he is kicked from pillar to post is as exaggerated as one of his 50 rolls, modern day football protects little cheats like him from the treatment that used to be dished out to talented players. The rest of the advert was just him making excuses, as usual. They say 14 minutes of World Cup football was lost just on his playacting alone, shame they did not lose the 14 minutes of footage of him in XXX. Now that was embarrassing.

Moura Calls Spurs Bigger Than PSG

Lucas Moura says that he has been impressed with Tottenham Hotspur, since joining them from Paris Saint-Germain, impressed at just how big a club they are. The Brazilian even claims they are bigger than the Ligue 1 champions. Moura said: "Tottenham are a big club. They are probably bigger in structure than PSG. I am impressed about this and I was happy to come here."
