Brum Suffer Transfer Embargo

Championship club Birmingham City are in talks with the English Football League to try and have a transfer embargo placed on them in June lifted. A club statement said: "Unfortunately and disappointingly the EFL are currently refusing to allow us to make additions to strengthen the squad. Talks remain ongoing in regard to profitability and sustainability regulations. The club has spent several months working diligently to satisfy the EFL. We are hopeful that a satisfactory agreement can be reached with the EFL as soon as possible to help ensure our continued competitiveness in the Championship."

Rangers Face £500,000 Legal Bill

After reaching an out of court settlement with Sports Jumble Sales Direct over the sale of their replica kits, which has left the supply still in the hands of SD, Rangers are now facing a legal bill of £500,000, for the privilege of achieving absolutely nothing. After failing to read the small print on their contract with the thie... erm I mean slav.... er Mike Ashley over the sale of strips, they are still with the cu... man for forseeable future.

Fulham Close In On Mawson

Cameroon In Discussions With Sven

The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) have been holding discussions with former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson to take charge of their national team. The Indomitable Lions would like the former Three Lions manager to replace Hugo Broos. Fecafoot announced: "After spending 72 hours, Sven-Goran Eriksson left Yaoundé on Saturday 28 July 2018. The Swedish manager was invited to Cameroon for a discussion in connection with the recruitment of a head coach for the senior national side - the Indomitable Lions. After the interview with Sven-Goran Eriksson and taking into account the other existing offers, Fecafoot will reveal in the next few days its choice of permanent coach for our national team."

City Get Mahrez Boost

Manchester City have been given an injury boost after new signing Riyad Mahrez has been passed fit to face Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday. The big money summer signing from Leicester City picked up an ankle injury in a pre-season match against Bayern Munich and had been wearing a protective boot ever since. However a scan had shown "no significant damage".
