Football News: Spending talk is disgusting - Van Gaal

So there we have it, Louis van Gaal has spoken, and we now all know that it is disgusting and disrespectful to his players for the media to discuss spending money on new players.

I wonder how calling one of his own players, a young lad just arrived for a big fee, so under significant pressure without this, overweight and out of shape ranks on the van Gaal scale of disrespect?

Personally I would have to say that seems a lot worse than suggesting a team struggling to defend will look to buy defenders.

Is the pressure getting to the Dutchman? Have his archaic training methods, of a similar ilk to Moyes, who was lambasted for them last season, caused the injury problems that have led to all the talk of buying players galore?

His confrontational attitude has led to problems in his spells at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, the first time round with Holland and his second spell at Ajax, could the same be happening again with Manchester United?

Certainly, for all the public statement forced on the youngster, it is known Luke Shaw was upset by his treatment at the hands of Van Gaal.

There is also speculation that his injury niggles are down to the overtraining he has been forced to undertake in order to get fit enough for the Dutch disciplinarian's liking.

Is that not the disgusting and disrespectful act of the season?
