Football News: Is it time for Ally to walk away

On the face of it, it seems odd that a manager who has led his team to back to back promotions and is challenging for a third successive promotion this season, should be under pressure.

But Rangers manager Ally McCoist is certainly a man under extreme pressure right now, with the fans turning on him in droves.

When you dig a little deeper the fans' frustrations become more understandable, with it being more than simple annoyance at the less than easy on the eye football being played.

Certainly his record becomes less impressive when you realise that his team was the only full time team in the bottom two divisions when they won their promotions.

His refusal to turn to the youth, when the club are in severe financial difficulties, and instead looking to take on older players on big money, with lengthy contracts, added to his pay making him the highest paid manager in Scottish football, are particular sore points.

Maybe now is time for him to forget his talk of not walking away and accept he simply is not up to the job.
