Football News: Eriksen: No New Contract At Spurs, For Now

Danish newspaper BT has been reporting that Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen has asked the club to shelve contract talks until the summer.

Spurs had asked the 22 year old attacking midfielder to begin talks over a new, improved contract, which would have made him the highest paid Danish player in world football.

Eriksen has been said to have asked the club to let him concentrate on his football and return to the negotiating table in the summer.

Worryingly for Spurs, this is becoming a trend with Dutch centre/left back Jan Vertonghen also asking to hold off on contract talks.
