Football News: Brady: I was just a publicity stunt

Former Birmingham City director, Karen Brady, has told the House of Lords that she was used as a publicity stunt by the club.

Brady, now working for West Ham United, was just 23 when she took on her role at Brum, though her age was kept from media at the time.

Fighting against prejudice in what is still a man's world, she became the first woman to hold a leading role in a top flight club after Birmingham won promotion to the Premier League.

She is now set to lead the Hammers into their new stadium and a brighter future, while Birmingham have sunk into financial difficulties since she moved on.
