Trotters Close To Takeover
The administrators of Bolton Wanderers have said that the takeover has taken a "major step closer" as an agreement has been signed with the preferred bidder, who cannot be revealed until Monday for legal reasons. Nigeria Staves Off Player Strike
The Nigerian Football Federation have paid their national side the outstanding bonuses and allowances just in time to head off a threatened players' revolt before their final group game at the Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar. These pay rows have been commonplace down the years with Nigeria's international sides, as coaching staff and players often go without promised payments for years.
Mobile App Announces Signing By Mistake
Despite the deal to sign Mateo Kovacic on a permanent transfer from Real Madrid not having been officially confirmed yet, there were a few redfaces in Chelsea's social media department after a story about him led with a mention of him making a permanent switch. The article, entitled 'Mateo Kovacic - My Footballing Firsts' started with the line: "After securing a permanent switch to Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at Chelsea from Real Madrid." It went on to ask Kovacic about his "First feeling when you signed for Chelsea..." To which he is quoted as replying: "It was an amazing feeling to sign for Chelsea, first on loan and now permanently." I may be reading between the lines and adding two and two together and coming up with 4 but it does seem like they are saying he has joined. I could be wrong however as the message is very subtle.
