Contracts

Brazilian defender Lyanco has signed a 5 year deal with Torino.

Osasuna midfielder Oier has agreed a 2 year contract.

Sheffield Wednesday's Kieran Lee, despite injury problems recently, has signed a 1 year deal with the Hillsborough club.

 

Transfers

David Beckham's soon-to-be Major League Soccer team with the terrible name, Inter Miami, have signed a pair of Argentine teenagers on loan. Julian Carranze has joined from Banfield, while Matias Pellegrini arrives from Estudiantes.

Levante defender Esteban Saveljich has moved to Rayo Vallecano.

Fulham midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa has joined Villareal on loan.

Inter Milan's veteran Brazilian centre-back Miranda has moved to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning on a free transfer.

Macedonian striker Ilija Nestorovski has joined Udinese on a free transfer from Palermo.

Sheffield United have signed Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United and Ben Osborn for an undisclosed fee from Nottingham Forest.

Norwich City full-back James Husband has joined Blackpool on loan.

Genoa have taken Italian midfielder Francesco Cassata on loan from Sassuolo.

Norwegian forward Havard Nielsen has moved to Greuther Furth from Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Parma have sold Leo Stulac to Empoli for just over £2m and lent them Jacopo Dezi.

Venezuelan midfielder Yangel Herrera has joined Granada on loan from Manchester City.

Kellan Gordon has signed for Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee from Derby County.

An undisclosed fee has also seen Salford City clinch the signature of Middlesbrough striker Luke Armstrong.

Scott Wharton has joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan deal from Blackburn Rovers.

Walsall has made a triple signing of defenders Zak Jules and Gary Liddle and winger Rory Holden. Holden has joined on loan from Bristol City. Jules joins for an undisclosed fee from Macclesfield Town. Liddle was a free transfer from Carlisle United.

Teenage defender George Forrest has joined Crawley Town after training with the club since the beginning of the year. He was previously in non-league football.

After being released by Aston Villa in the summer Jordan Lyden has joined Swindon Town.

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng has joined Doncaster Rovers on loan until January.

Gillingham have taken Watford striker Alex Jakubiak on a season long loan.

Callum Reilly has joined AFC Wimbledon on a free transfer after his contract with Gillingham was cancelled by mutual consent.

Victor Adeboyejo has joined Bristol Rovers on loan for the season from Barnsley.

League of Ireland club Cork City have sold defender Sean McLoughlin to Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

Middlesbrough have paid an undisclosed fee for midfielder Marcus Browne from West Ham United.

Birmingham City have paid an undisclosed fee to sign Croatia midfielder Ivan Sunjic from Dinamo Zagreb.

Estonian defender Madis Vihmann has joined St Johnstone on loan for a year with an option for a further year or a permanent deal. The 23 year old has cut short a 2-year loan to Norwegian side Stabaek to make the move to Scotland.

 

Injury Round-Up

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has become the latest player to be ruled out of the start of the season with an ankle injury. The 27 year old has had surgery to correct the problem and joins Kemar Roofe on the sidelines for Leeds.

 

Napoli Meet Pepe Asking Price

The president of LOSC Lille has confirmed that Napoli have met their asking price for Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe. Gerard Lopez told Tuttosport: "Last year we asked Pépé to stay, with the promise that we'd sell him in this transfer window. We've received offers that satisfy us in a financial sense from four clubs. De Laurentiis has met our asking price of €80 million. Now it'll be up to the player to decide where to go, also based on the offers that his agents have received from the four clubs." Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has also confirmed it saying: "They were in our hotel. I greeted them, as I did with all the agents who came here. Obviously, we are interested in Pépé. His agents are here and there's no point hiding that. Negotiations are in progress and we'll see what happens." He also said of James Rodriguez: "You know that he's one of the players that we want to sign. Negotiations are underway. Real want to sell and Napoli want to sign him."

 

County Takeover Completed

Recently relegated Notts County have finally been bought by new owners Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz. The new owners have released a statement: "We are delighted that the deal has been completed, and that the uncertainty about the club's future has come to an end. We can now all shift our focus towards the exciting new football season which is just around the corner. As you may be aware, we run a football analysis company called Football Radar, which has its headquarters in London and further offices in Liverpool and Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Ever since we founded the company 10 years ago it has been our goal to own a professional football club, and we are thrilled that the day has come where we have fulfilled this ambition." It sounds like they are competitors to Matthew Bentham, the owner of Brentford, and are intent on running the club in the same way.

 

Olympic Striker Retires

Burton Albion's striker Marvin Sordell has retired at the age of just 28. Sordell, who represented Great Britain at the London Olympics in 2012, has struggled with mental health problems and has decided to quit playing and help other sufferers. Sordell told Burton's website: "I've been fortunate to spend the past 10 years living my dream, but my happiness now lies outside of the game. My mental health has been severely impacted throughout my career, therefore I feel it's the right time to move forward in my life. I have always been eager to help people who have had similar problems in their lives and going forward I'd like to be able to make a difference in football when it comes to mental wellbeing."

 

Nigeria Keeper Looks To Return

After 2 years out of the game, Nigeria keeper Vincent Enyeama has gone on trial with Dijon of France's Ligue 1 in the attempt to get a contract. The 36 year old has not played since 2017.

 

Zamalek Try To Block Kahraba Move

Egyptian giants Zamalek have denied that Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneim has joined Portugese side CD Aves, despite the signing being announced on CD Aves' website. Zamalek president Mortada Mansour said: "The player did not attend the training and we know that he travelled out Egypt to negotiate with other clubs, we will go to Fifa."

 

FIFA Ban Kabba

Former Sierra Leone FA official Abu Bakarr Kabba is the latest African footballing official to receive a ban from FIFA. Kabba has been banned for 5 years and fined US$50,000 for being found "guilty of having accepted and received bribes in relation to the manipulation of international matches".

 

Micah Richards Retires

After about nearly 3 years of sitting on the sidelines collecting a pay cheque, Micah 'last man into training first man out' Richards has finally done us all a favour and retired. The 31 year old has not played a game since October 2016 and it is arguable that he has not actually bothered trying to play for about 5 years previous to that.

 

Bale Set For China Move

Real Madrid's Welsh forward Gareth Bale is showing what he wants from football by choosing a move for the money to China. Bale will have to leave his private golf course for long enough to sign a deal as a move to Jiangsu Suning comes close.
