Football News: Hoddle: Spurs need a special player
QPR coach and former Tottenham Hotspur player Glenn Hoddle has claimed that Spurs need to spend more money in January if they are to challenge for a top four place this season.
The London club are currently struggling in 10th under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, who they brought in from Southampton in the summer.
Hoddle has questioned whether chairman Daniel Levy will allow the manager to bring in the players Hoddle believes Spurs need to add.
"He may want to bring in some fresh people. Whether Daniel (Levy, the chairman) is going to be up for that remains to be seen," Hoddle told Press Association Sport.
"It is very difficult nowadays. There is a lack of world class strikers and midfield players which control the game, express themselves and that is what I think they miss. They have some good players but they don't have a special player."
