Contracts

PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn has signed a 4 year deal.

Veteran striker Edin Dzeko has a new 3 year deal with AS Roma.

Bristol City defender Taylor Moore has agreed a 2 year contract with the club.

 


Transfers

Inter Milan's Italian striker Samuele Longo has joined Deportivo La Coruna on loan.

Reading winger Adrian Popa has joined Steau Bucharest on loan.

Alaves' Ghanaian winger Patrick Twumasi is heading out on loan to Turkish side Gazisehir.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Kazaiah Sterling has been loaned to Doncaster Rovers.

Another loan move for a striker is Igor Zlatanovic, who has left Mallorca for Numancia on a loan deal.

Galatasaray have signed French midfielder Steven Nzonzi on loan from AS Roma.

1.FSV Mainz 05 have released Spanish midfielder Jose Rodriguez.

Oldham Athletic have re-signed goalkeeper Zeus de la Paz despite being released at the end of last season.

Young Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen has joined Carlisle United on loan for the season. Also leaving Newcastle on loan is teenage defender Kelland Watts who has signed for Stevenage.

Bradford City striker Eoin Doyle has joined Swindon Town on loan for the season.

Jayden Richardson has joined Exeter City on loan from Nottingham Forest.

Charlton Athletic have signed Turkish forward Erhum Oztumer on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers.

Shrewsbury Town have made a double signing of Sean Goss from Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee and Louis Thompson on loan from Norwich City.

Peterborough United have signed Nathan Thompson after he left Portsmouth.

Swindon Town midfielder Jordan Young has signed for Coventry City.

League One side Southend United have signed midfielder Ethan Hamilton on loan from manchester United.

Ross County have released Kenny van der Weg.

 


Injury Round-Up

Real Madrid have added big summer signing Eden Hazard to their injury list. They are already missing Marco Asensio with a torn ACL and Rodrygo with a hamstring problem and now Hazard has joined them on the sidelines for the opening match with a hamstring problem.

Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain has been ruled out for a month after dislocating his thumb in training.

Norwich City's Cuban winger Onel Hernandez has suffered a suspected ACL injury and will need surgery after slipping and falling while at home. Manager Daniel Farke said: "It's a big blow. He slipped over at home and fell on his knee and we have to check if there's something wrong with his ACL. He may need surgery."

 


Board Recommend Barry Deal

The board of Cambridge United have recommended that shareholders accept the offer from Paul Barry to take sole ownership of the League Two club. Barry has been the largest shareholder in the club since 2008. Board chairman Shaun Gradys said: "This proposal obviously comes at a time when the issue of funding for all lower league clubs is under significant scrutiny. The board believe the proposal provides important financial stability and security over the short and medium term. All fans know that Paul is black and amber to his core. This recommendation follows detailed discussions with several potential investors over the last nine months which resulted in three formal proposals being made as part of a through process involving the whole board and its advisers."

 


Morocco Appoint New Boss

After leaving Nantes this month, Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzic has been appointed head coach of Morocco. He is taking the place of Herve Renard, who left despite taking the nation to the World Cup in Russia, after a disappointing AFCON in the summer and has moved on to Saudi Arabia.

 


Nigerian Legend Siasia Banned For Life

FIFA have banned former Nigeria player and coach Samson Siasia for life for agreeing to "receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches." A FIFA statement read: The Ethics Committee has found Mr Siasia, a former official of the Nigeria Football Federation, guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the Fifa Code of Ethics."

 


McCarthy Calls Up Parrott

Teenage Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott has joined Doncaster Rovers winger Kieran Sadlier in getting his first senior call-up for the Republic of Ireland.

Terriers Sack Siewert

With just one win after taking over from David Wagner seven months ago, Huddersfield Town have shown the door to Jan Siewert, just days after he said he did not fear losing his job. He is the first manager in the Championship to lose his job and only the second in the English Football League this season.
