FGR And Stags Fined

Forest Green Rovers and Mansfield Town have both been fined £1,000 by the Football Association after an incident at the end of their League Two match on Saturday. The game finished 2-2 and both sets of players needed to be separated after the final whistle, leading to the FA charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour.

Exiles Wants Ledley

Free agent midfielder Joe Ledley is a target for Newport County. The 32 year old, who has made 77 appearances for Wales, has been a free agent since January and the Exiles are hoping to sign him next week. Exiles manager Michael Flynn said: "I'll speak to Joe and if there is anything, then he will come in and train first. He's been training with a Championship club [Cardiff] and he keeps himself in good shape, there is no fat on him. Is it close? No. Have I have spoken to him? Yes. Joe's only 32 and he's definitely still got a few years in him. Theoretically signing him is not ruled out, no. But I still think Joe could play at a higher level. So we will see." Flynn also revealed that Wilfried Bony is still training with Newport, but there is no chance of signing him.

Jewell Hit With Stadium Ban

Former Bradford City and Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell has been hit with a £1,750 fine and given a 3 match stadium ban by the Football Association. Barry Return Setback

Gareth Barry's return to West Bromwich Albion is in doubt due to a clause in his previous contract with Everton which would make them due a payment. Baggies boss Slaven Bilic said: "It's frustrating for us and for him. We had a meeting yesterday. The deal is agreed with him but we have that situation with Everton. There is a little clause. I spoke to the board and we are doing everything we can. He would be a major boost for us and one that comes from within too. He already knows the place and most of the players. We have a lot of young players. At times they need the kind of support that he can bring."
