Popular former Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel, who led the Yorkshire club to promotion from League One in England before being sacked the following season, has been given the reins at Heart of Midlothian. Barnsley fans were so upset at his sacking that they threw Stendel a leaving party in the centre of the town. Hearts have given the German a two and a half year deal as manager. Stendel will be replacing caretaker Austin MacPhee, who has been in charge for six matches since the sacking of director of football and head coach Craig Levein.

To add to Arsenal's current issues, with performances so poor they decided to sack the manager, they have now added a pre-tax loss of £23.5m for the year. The previous financial year they made a profit of £97.4m. The deficit is in large part being attributed to sales being reduced from £122.3m to £16.8m. Derby Match Marred By Thrown Objects And Racist Abuse

Manchester United's 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium was marred by a series of objects thrown by home supporters at Man Utd midfielder Fred as he prepared to take a corner in front of home fans. One of the objects appeared to hit the Brazilian. To make matters worse for City, Man Utd duo Fred and Jesse Lingard have reported being racially abused by a fan, which was also acknowledged by both Man City and Kick it Out. Manchester City stated that they "are aware of a video circulating on social media which appears to show a supporter making racial gestures during the second half of the match against Manchester United this evening". Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "I've seen it on the video, it was Jesse and Fred and the fella must be ashamed of himself. It's unacceptable and I hope he will not be watching any football anymore. Fred and Jesse were taking a corner and I've seen the video, heard from the boys. We keep talking about it every bloody week. But he's been caught on camera, he should in my opinion never be allowed into a football ground again. Unacceptable. I'm sure City and the authorities will deal with it. We keep talking about it every week and it won't stop unless it'll have consequences."

Paris Saint-Germain's former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was seemingly hit by a water bottle thrown by Olympique Marseille supporters during a 3-1 win for the French champions.
