Contracts

Nantes Brazilian defender Andrei Girotto has extended his contract until 2024.

Forest Green Rovers have handed Elliott Frear a deal until the end of the season.

Tom Anderson has signed a new contract with Doncaster Rovers which runs out in 2022.

Salford City winger Craig Conway has extended his contract until the end of the season.

 


Transfers

German forward Mark Uth has joined 1. FC Cologne on loan from FC Schalke 04. Also leaving Schalke on loan is Steven Skrzybski, who has been loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Bayern Munich have loaned young midfielder Timothy Tillman to Greuther Furth.

Jack Rodwell has signed for Sheffield United on a free.

FC Metz have paid just over £4m for Dylan Bronn from KAA Gent.

Middlesbrough have taken Lukas Nmecha on loan from Manchester City following his return from a loan with VfL Wolfsburg. Boro have also taken Patrick Roberts on loan from Man City.

Young Danish full-back Andreas Poulsen has joined Austria Vienna on loan from Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Parma have taken Dejan Kulusevski on loan from Juventus, straight after Juve spent £31.5m to sign him from Atalanta.

Portland Timbers have spent £2.42m on Colombian right winger Yimmi CHara from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.

Colorado Rapids winger Shkelzen Gashi has joined FC Aarau on a free transfer.

Former Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua has signed for Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy from VfB Stuttgart on a free transfer.

Fabian Reese has joined Holstein Kiel from FC Schalke 04.

Nimes have taken Yassine Benrahou from Girondins Bordeaux on loan.

Marco Terrazzino has joined Dynamo Dresden on loan from SC Freiburg.

Leyton Orient have signed goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux on a free transfer from Swindon Town.

Burnley duo Adam Phillips and Ryan Cooney have signed for Morecambe on loan. Jordan Slew has also signed for the Shrimps from non-league club Ashton United.

Cheltenham Town have paid an undisclosed fee for Alfie May from Doncaster Rovers.

Steve Seddon has joined Portsmouth on loan from Birmingham City.

Peterborough United have signed Reece Brown on loan from Huddersfield Town.

Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane has joined Hull City on loan for the rest of the season.

Tyreeq Bakinson has signed for Plymouth Argyle on loan from Bristol City.

Danny Drinkwater is to return to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell with Burnley.

 


Injury Round-Up

Accrington Stanley winger Sean McConville is to have an operation on a ruptured Achilles, which will rule him out for the rest of the season. McConville said: "I was jumping for a ball and felt like someone had volleyed me in the back of the leg and I looked around and there was no-one there."

Cardiff City will be without winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing for the rest of the season with a ruptured hamstring.

Jose Mourinho has said that he is expecting "bad news" regarding Harry Kane's return from a torn hamstring. The Tottenham Hotspur and England striker is expected to miss a few weeks while he recovers.

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is expected to be out for at least 6 months.

Aston Villa have lost both striker Wesley and goalkeeper Tom Heaton for the rest of the season with both suffering knee ligament damage in the win over Burnley.

 


Saints Increase Away Allocation

St Johnstone are to give Celtic and Rangers an increased ticket allocation, meaning the away fans will have three stands at McDiarmid Park in those matches. Saints are struggling due to a reduction in the number of season ticket holders attending matches against both Rangers and Celtic.

 


Lyon Rule Out Dembele Sale

Olympique Lyonnaise have warned interested clubs that they are not selling striker Moussa Dembele. There has been interest reported from Chelsea and Manchester United, amongst others, but a club statement read: "Olympique Lyonnais have become aware of some media reports suggesting that Moussa Dembele may be of interest to other clubs during the January transfer window. We would like to reaffirm our wish, as we did in the summer of 2020, to keep Moussa Dembele. The club has full confidence in Moussa and is counting on him in particular as we aim to build a successful team for the coming seasons."
