Rice Given 10 Game Ban
The Scottish FA have banned Hamilton Academical head coach Brian Rice from the dugout for 10 games. Rice admitted breaching gambling rules and will be kept from the dugout for 5 games with the other 5 suspended. The chair of the tribunal said: "The period of suspension selected reflects the gravity of the breach of the rule involving the large number of low value bets. The tribunal chose to suspend one half of the sanction to reflect the genuine efforts it considered Mr Rice has made to 'put his life and that of his family back together again' and to take account of his genuine expression of remorse for his breach of the rule and the effect that has had on his family, the club and the Scottish FA. It is the hope of the tribunal that the suspended element will not be imposed but will play some part in helping Mr Rice to avoid returning to the practice, which has so blighted his life."
Fraser Apology
Bournemouth's Scotland winger Ryan Fraser has apologised after admitting he has not "played for the team" this season. Fraser has revealed that he was affected by the links with Arsenal during the summer transfer window. After banging in 8 goals and providing 15 assists last season, this season the diminutive attacker has managed just 1 goal and 3 assists so far this time around. Fraser told the BBC: "I felt bad about it - this last month I've been trying to put it right. I think everyone knows by now what's happened, to be honest. I'm just trying to play my football. Obviously it affected me the first four months of the season. I wasn't myself, I didn't play for the team. I'm honest enough to admit that. I look back at it. I spoke to my family about it and it just looked bad on me. I didn't help the team. It shouldn't have taken me that long to realise, but I'm my own worst critic and I apologised to the lads. All I can really say is that, for the next six months, I'll give everything for the club. I've just talked about the last four months. That won't be happening again. I can give everything, I can track back, I can try to get my assists and goals to help the club get to where it should be in the Premier League. After that, I don't really know what's going to happen. But that is all I can promise. I'll fight for club, I'll fight for the badge, I'll fight for my team-mates, I'll fight for the manager and fans."
