Udinese central defender Bram Nuytinck has extended his contract until 2023.

Transfers

Injury Round-Up

Brazil have sent Neymar all the way home again after his 11 hour flight to join up with their squad despite being injured. Paris Saint-Germain had informed Brazil that their star forward had a leg injury that would rule him out for 4 weeks but they called him up anyway in the hope he would still be able to play at some point. After assessing him they realised they had wasted their time and he would not be fit to play, so sent him back to Paris.

On-loan Everton striker Moise Kean has also returned to PSG due to injury. The striker went away with bruising on his knee which would have allowed him to play but has now picked up a muscle injury which has seen Italy call up Stefano Okaka to replace him.

Another PSG star is also out of international duty through injury. This one is Kylian Mbappe who is left out of France's squad to face Portugal due to a hamstring problem.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios is set to spend 3 months out after suffering a serious injury playing for Argentina against Paraguay. Palacios fractured 3 vertebrae when Angel Romero smashed into his back with a flying knee while the pair competed for a high ball.

The entire Norway squad have been told to quarantine for ten days by local health authorities after Omar Elabdellaoui tested CV positive. The players, who include Borussia Dortmund wunderkind Erling Haaland, were refused permission to leave the country in order to play Romania in their UEFA Nations League tie.

AC Milan have cancelled training until Monday after their manager Stefano Pioli tested positive for coronavirus.

Managerial Changes

Derby County have sacked manager Phillip Cocu and he and his assistants have left the club, with the Rams sat on bottom of the Championship table. Club captain Wayne Rooney, along with coaches Shay Given, Liam Rosenior and Justin Walker, will take training while County search for a new manager.

Dijon have appointed David Linares as their new head coach. Linares was formerly a captain of the club as a player and was already working within the club as a coach.

Disciplinary Charges

Celtic were fined 7,000 euros by UEFA for "improper conduct" during their Europa League draw at LOSC Lille last month. Five Celtic players were booked, leading to the fine.

Rice Jumps To Mount's Defence

West Ham United's England midfielder Declan Rice has stepped in to the controversy surrounding Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount's inclusion in the England team. For some reason Mount is getting abused as the twatterati believe he is being picked instead of the latest 'saviour' of England, Jack Grealish. Instead of complaining about the man who picks a team of right-backs, Gareth Southgate, the social media morons would rather abuse a player who gives his best every game. Rice, who has been friends with Mount since their schooldays, said: "I know what his mentality is like. I know how driven he is. It is no surprise that Gareth picks him and Frank picks him. I think if you give every Premier League manager the chance to pick him, they pick him as well. If you see day in, day out what he gives to the team as an individual, he's a top talent. The criticism is very harsh. There's always going to be comparisons but they pretty much play in two different parts of the pitch. Mason now, at Chelsea, is playing as an attacking number eight and Jack is playing off the left. You could see the other night that they can both play in the same team for sure and they're both great players that I think we should be valuing. For the nation, and for me as someone who gets to play with these players, we're lucky that we get to play with such talents."

Neymar Countersues Barca

Following Barcelona's lawsuit aimed at recovering 10m euros that they claim former player Neymar was overpaid, the Brazilian has launched a countersuit for 44m euros. Despite not completing a renewal period, Neymar is suing the Catalans for the remaining monies from a renewal bonus for signing a new contract.
