Injury Round-Up

Managerial Changes

Fleetwood Town have appointed former Leeds United, Blackpool and Huddersfield Town manager Simon Grayson as their new head coach. Grayson said: "I'm delighted to get back to work and be given this opportunity to get the club winning again. Fleetwood Town are a football club I know a lot about, it's a club with a really good infrastructure. I can't wait to get started." Grayson has been out of work for almost a year after being sacked by Blackpool following a run of one win in twelve games.

Glyn Hodges has left his role as AFC Wimbledon manager following a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of MK Dons. Hodges began his playing career with Wimbledon and returned initially as assistant manager to Wally Downes at the end of 2018. Wimbledon are currently sat in the relegation zone in League One.

Alex Dyer has left his role of Kilmarnock manager by "mutual consent" after a home defeat to St Johnstone. Killie have won just twice in their last 11 games.

Disciplinary Charges

Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso was dropped and hit with a "heavy" fine after he had a tattoo done. The 26 year old French international breached Bayern's guidelines during the pandemic to get the tattoo done. A video of him getting the tattoo on his forearm without a face mask on and while tattoo parlours are closed during the country's current lockdown. So now the Bundesliga can add tattoo artists to hairdressers to the list of people they have managed to upset during the current lockdown! Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha has made a "voluntary" donation to charity as a punishment for also getting a tattoo but was included in the Hertha squad at the weekend.

Messi Contract Leaked

Barcelona have denied leaking Lionel Messi's contract details to Spanish newspaper El Mundo and said they will take "appropriate legal action" after it published details of his £492m deal. A Barca statement read: "FC Barcelona categorically denies any responsibility for the publication of this document, and will take appropriate legal action against the newspaper El Mundo, for any damage that may be caused as a result of this publication. FC Barcelona expresses its absolute support for Lionel Messi, especially in the face of any attempt to discredit his image, and to damage his relationship with the entity where he has worked to become the best player in the world and in football history." El Mundo claimed Messi was receiving around £123m a season.
