Contracts

Millwall have signed defender Danny McNamara to a 'long-term' contract extension.

Transfers

Free agent former Tottenham Hotspur forward Shayon Harrison has signed for AFC Wimbledon. The 23 year old was with Dutch second division side Almere in the first half of the season.

Didier Drogba's son Isaac has signed for Italian fourth division side Folgore Caratese. The 20 year old forward has previously been with two of his dad's old clubs in the form of Chelsea and then Guingamp.

Borussia Moenchengladbach have loaned their Danish left-back Andreas Poulsen to Austria Vienna.

Djurgarden have paid just over £600,000 to sign Swansea City striker Joel Asoro.

Australian winger Craig Goodwin has signed for Adelaide United on loan from Saudi Pro League side Abha.

Injury Round-Up

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out for a "few weeks" after the French World Cup winner suffered a thigh muscle injury against during the 3-3 draw against Everton.

Saint-Etienne have lost forward Romain Hamouma for a month with a hamstring injury.

Greek defender Kostas Manolas is set to miss some Napoli games with a second grade ankle sprain.

Managerial Changes

League Two's Port Vale have appointed David Flitcroft as their new director of football. The club has been without a manager since John Askey left on 4th January and Flitcroft's first job as the DoF is to recruit a new head coach for the club.

Kilmarnock have appointed Tommy Wright as their new manager. The Scottish Premiership side have turned to the former St Johnstone boss after previous manager Alex Dyer left by "mutual consent". Wright has been out of the game since leaving Saints in May 2020.

Disciplinary Charges

West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek's red card has been dismissed on appeal. Unsurprisingly. Sadly, the referee who showed the card in error has notified the police after his family received numerous threats, including some death threats and abusive messages.

Champions League Games Moved

Liverpool's Champions League first leg tie against RB Leipzig will be played in Budapest, Hungary, due to the travel restrictions placed on those from the UK entering Germany. While the first game has been moved to the Puskas Arena, the second leg will take place as planned at Anfield. Manchester City's away leg against Borussia Moenchengladbach will also be moved to the Puskas Arena. One Europa League match has also been moved. The game between Molde and Hoffenheim will be played in Villareal as Norway's restrictions on travel prevent the Germans from going there.

Pioneer Collins Passes Away

The English league's first black manager Tony Collins has sadly left us for a better place at the age of 94. Collins played for a number of clubs such as Sheffield Wednesday, Watford and Norwich City before going into management with Rochdale. In seven years in charge there, despite the club mainly operating in the fourth tier, he managed to take them to the League Cup final in 1962. He later worked for Manchester United as a chief scout.

Garcia Calls Out Hypocritical Koeman

Olympique Lyonnais head coach Rudi Garcia has told Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman that he has a cheek to complain about Paris Saint-Germain's public pursuit of Lionel Messi. Koeman has been whining after PSG's Argentine playmaker Angel Di Maria said he would love to play alongside Messi in the French capital. Step forward Garcia to remind us all of Koeman's very public summer pursuit of Lyon forward Memphis Depay. Garcia said: "I read that Ronald Koeman was a little offended that PSG spoke about Lionel Messi at the club before a Champions League match. He was not shy, even after the transfer window, to talk about Memphis Depay. It is called the water sprinkler and the sprinkler has been sprinkled." Not sure what sprinklers have to do with it, but Koeman had said (amongst many other comments about wanting to sign Depay): "I want to have him at Barcelona. I can't know what the financial situation of the club will be then. We'll have to wait."
