Contracts

Millwall duo Tyler Burey and Danny McNamara have signed new contracts with the club.

Transfers

Free agent former Leicester City and Rangers striker Joe Dodoo has signed for Wigan Athletic.

Another free agent, this time former Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne, has signed for Burton Albion.

Injury Round-Up

Celtic midfielder Ismaila Soro crashed his car in the snow but the club believe he is fine despite missing most of training on Tuesday.

Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Accrington Stanley midfielder Sean McConville has been hit with a four game ban after he admitted a violent conduct charge. McConville has also apologised to Northampton Town defender Peter Kioso over the incident.

Celtic forward Albian Ajeti's two-game ban for diving was repealed on appeal after the charge was returned with a "not proved" verdict.

Salary Cap Plans Dropped

Plans to introduce a salary cap in League One and League Two have been dropped after the PFA blocked the move. The plan was to have a £2.5m limit in League One, while League Two was to have their wages set to total no more than £1.25m. An independent arbitration panel agreed with the claim by the Professional Footballers' Association that the caps were "unlawful and unenforceable".

Another European Game Moved

As well as Manchester City and Liverpool's away legs in the Champions League and Molde's home game against Hoffenheim all being moved due to covid restrictions, Manchester United's away leg against Real Sociedad has also had to be moved. There are restrictions on travellers from the UK going to Spain, so the match will instead be played in the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Cherries Step In To Save Clarets From Expulsion

Ahead of Burnley's FA Cup tie with Bournemouth, manager Sean Dyche had included Erik Pieters in his team until Bournemouth's head of media and communications stepped in to point out Pieters was ineligible due to bookings in the previous two games. If Pieters had played, Burnley would have been thrown out of the competition, as Pieters had picked up bookings in the two previous FA Cup matches, meaning he had picked up a one-match suspension. Dyche said: "It wasn't disruptive. It was just a simple admin error. We have people who keep an eye on situations, unfortunately it got away from that moment where someone found clarity. The rules have changed this year with the booking situation and the number of games in the FA Cup. It was just a clear oversight. "To be fair to Bournemouth, they flagged it and mentioned it, so credit to them for a bit of gentlemanly conduct. We jumped on it straight away and people at our club held their hands up in the right slots." Burnley lost 2-0 on the night.
