Injury Round-Up

Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Sparta Prague have been charged with "discriminatory behaviour", "provocative offensive messages" and "throwing of objects" by UEFA. Their fans are accused of racially abusing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni after he scored against them in Champions League qualifying.

It has been revealed that UEFA's head offices in Switzerland were raided earlier this year and multiple employees were detained. Two were then arrested, suspected of corruption and both remain in custody, where they have been since 7th April this year. According to reports in Switzerland, the two employees have both been sacked.

Barca And Madrid Unite

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have united in a condemnation of the plan by La Liga to sell a percentage of their shares to investment company CVC. The clubs have claimed that, even though they are league stakeholders, they were not consulted and have only just seen the deal, which includes selling CVC part of all clubs' audiovisual rights for the next 50 years. Barcelona have called the deal "inappropriate", while Madrid have gone further, terming it "deceitful" and "in breach of the law". Madrid also pointed out that both the French and German leagues turned down a similar agreement, labelling CVC an opportunist. Obviously totally unlike Madrid and Barca, who were not at all opportunistic, deceitful or greedy in their pursuit of a 'European Super League'.
