Injury Round-Up

After the young midfielder suffered concussion in a pre-season friendly against Osasuna, Liverpool's Curtis Jones will miss the season opener against Norwich City.

Another youngster set to miss the start of the new Premier League season is Manchester City and England's Phil Foden. The 21-year-old picked up a foot injury during Euro 2020 and is unlikely to be back until after the first international break in September.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech picked up a "seriuous" injury during the UEFA Super Cup win over Villareal.

Nottingham Forest left-back Gaetan Bong has been banned for 3 matches for violent conduct. The veteran 'defender' was caught on camera clashing with Coventry City's Callum O'Hare in an incident missed by the match officials on the day.

New Man At The Palace

Crystal Palace have announced the arrival of new investment in the club, along with the appointment of American businessman John Textor to the board, to make it 4 directors at the Selhurst Park club. The investment will provide new funds for Patrick Vieira to spend but has also paid for the academy status to be upgraded to category one.
