La Liga To Sell Stake
Despite opposition from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and one second division club, the deal to sell a 10% stake in La Liga's commercial rights to CVC Capital Partners has been accepted at a lesser £1.95bn price due to the 4 clubs refusal. The initial deal was set to be £2.3bn. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have called the deal "illegal" and claimed it would "increase inequality".
