Edson Alvarez has signed a new Ajax deal which will expire in 2025.

Free agent former Tottenham Hostpur and Juventus striker Fernando Llorente has signed for Spanish second tier side Eibar.

Experienced former Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers target man Rudy Gesteded has moved to Esteghlal on a free transfer from Panetolikos.

Cambridge United have signed Tomas Holy on emergency loan from Ipswich Town. The Czech goalkeeper will be at Cambridge for 7 days to provide cover after first-choice keeper Dimitar Mitov suffered concussion.

Aston Villa's former Nottingham Forest full-back has transferred his international allegiance to Poland after being granted citizenship. The 24-year-old right-back, who was born in Slough, has a Polish mother.

Injury Round-Up

Ipswich Town's under-23 manager, former England and Newcastle United player Kieron Dyer, is in hospital undergoing tests. The 42-year-old suffered a collapsed lung last month while taking part in a 'reality' TV show called Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Brentford will have to make do without goalkeeper David Raya for "between four and five months" after he suffered a knee injury in a collision with Leicester City forward Ayoze Perez. Raya has damaged his posterior cruciate ligament.

Managerial Changes

Following a 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano, hot on the heels of a weekend loss to Real Madrid, Barcelona have sacked Ronald Koeman. Barca are currently 9th in La Liga with 15 points from 10 matches.

Carlisle United have turned to Keith Millen as their new manager. Millen has been in charge at both Orgyte and Bristol City, though is mostly known as an assistant, having worked with the likes of Neil Warnock and Ian Holloway in the past.

Another of Bristol City's coaching staff has left the club, less than a week after former assistant manager Paul Simpson left. First-team coach Keith Downing, the former England Under-19 manager, has followed Simpson out of the exit door.

Disciplinary Charges

Nine supporters have been banned by Bolton Wanderers for their part in trouble during a League One fixture against Wigan Athletic on 16th October. Missiles were thrown and advertising hoardings ripped up as fans of both teams were thrown out of the stadium.
