Football News: Board meeting may decide McCoist future

It is anticipated that the future of Rangers manager Ally McCoist will be a hot topic of discussion at a board meeting this Wednesday.

It is speculated that McCoist handed in his notice last week to the Rangers board under the terms of his 12 month rolling contract, however should the board wish to remove him sooner a financial package would have to be agreed, but Rangers dire financial position may block any attempts to push such a plan through.

Ally McCoist has come under fire after recent defeats against Queen of the South, Heart of Midlothian and Alloa Athletic left Rangers 9 points adrift in the Scottish Championship having played a game more and eliminated from the Challenge Cup.
