Contracts
Sampdoria have awarded Polish right-back Bartosz Bereszynski a new deal which runs until 2025.
Joseph Aidoo is now contracted to Celta de Vigo until 2026.
Transfers
Aston Villa's Egyptian winger Trezeguet has joined Basaksehir on loan.
Falkirk have signed free agent former Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.
Kekuta Manneh has dropped down from Major League Soccer by leaving Austin to sign for USLC side San Antonio on a free transfer.
Also in the MLS, Toronto have paid £585,000 for Spanish forward Jesus Jimenez from Polish club Gornik Zabrze.
Trabzonspor have paid a fee of £720,000 for teenage striker Emrehan Gedikli from Bayer Leverkusen.
New York City FC have signed Thiago Martins from Yokohama F Marinos.
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Niklas Sule will sign for them on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in the summer, when his contract expires.
The CIES Football Observatory have reported that Manchester United have the biggest transfer loss in Europe over the last decade. Since 2012, United have a negative net spend of more than 1bn euros, having spent 1.545bn on incomings and received just 470m in player sales. The other Manchester side, Manchester City are second with a negative net spend of 984m, ahead of Paris Saint-Germain with 914m, Barcelona fourth with 650m and Arsenal in 5th with losses of 583m.
Injury Round-Up
Swindon Town midfielder Jordan Lyden is looking likely to miss the rest of the season after the 26-year-old ruptured his Achilles tendon.
Marcelo Bielsa has revealed he has concerns over the recovery from a foot injury of Patrick Bamford. The Leeds United forward has not played since December and Bielsa revealed: "He continues with the problems at the bottom of his foot and he hasn't started jogging. His situation continues the same way and we can't predict when he will return because it depends on the pain going away so he can start jogging again. Since the injury started the pain hasn't gone away."
A hamstring injury will force Sheffield United striker Rhian Brewster to miss the rest of the season, according to their manager Paul Heckingbottom.
Barrow winger Josh Kay has been ruled out for at least 6 weeks with an ankle ligament injury.
Managerial Changes
Dan Ashworth has quit his role as technical director of Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of taking up a post as Newcastle United's director of football.
Disciplinary Charges
West Ham United have "unreservedly condemned" their centre-back Kurt Zouma after a video emerged of the 27-year-old kicking his cat across the floor and slapping it in the face. The defender has apologised.
Nike have dumped Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood following his arrest on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and making threats to kill.
Chelsea have agreed to pay damages to eight former youth team players over allegations they were racially abused at the club during the 1990s. An out-of-court settlement was reached on Monday. Former coaches Gwyn Williams and Graham Rix were accused of using racially offensive terms and Williams admitted to using some, though claimed that there was "no intention to cause harm".
Barnsley and Cardiff City have been charged by the Football Association after players and coaches from both sides were involved in a melee at Oakwell after the final whistle of their match on 2nd February.
The red card shown to Bolton Wanderers captain Ricardo Santos has been overturned.
Guimaraes Makes Newcastle Claim
Newcastle United's big January signing Bruno Guimaraes has denied that he signed for the club for money. The Brazilian midfielder, who cost £35m from Olympique Lyonnais, has joined the Magpies despite them being sat 19th in the Premier League table and battling relegation. Guimaraes said: "This is a club that is going to be a big power in world football. This is an historic club with a great tradition and a beautiful history, I have no doubts about my decision to come to Newcastle."
Dundee United Post Losses
Dundee United have announced losses of £2.5m for their last financial year. Their wage bill has risen to 132% of their turnover in the period up to June 2021. Their chairman Mark Ogren has said that he expects the club to return a profit over the next 12 months, in part due to the sale of Lawrence Shankland and Kerr Smith.
